Its easy to order. Step 1. Select Cable Size. Step 2. Determine your cable railing frame materials, wood or metal and the thickness of your end posts (posts to which tensioning and other mounting hardware will be attached). See the Design Guides and Specifications section for information on how to successfully design a metal or wood cable railing. Step 3. Measure the length of each cable run. Add at least 6 inches. to your measurement. Step 4. Select the end fittings for your straight runs and those for stairs or severe pitches. For straight runs, you can use any of the stainless steel cable railing assemblies offered. For stairs or severe pitches, select from among cable assemblies (X)300 Series or (X)500 Series that have fittings designed for that purpose. To use fittings that pass through the end posts, you will need a few inches between the back of the end post and any structure (or other post). |
